Caribbean Chit has an email list now, and I’m trying to get it to 50 people. When it gets there, one confirmed subscriber wins a free month of our Patreon. Here is what the list is for, and how the draw works.
Why an email list
Most of what I post lives on platforms I don’t control. Instagram decides who sees a reel. YouTube decides what it recommends. Patreon is where the full videos live, but not everyone wants a membership. An email list is the one place I can tell you directly when something new is up, and you can leave in one click.
What you’ll get
A few emails a month, no more. Mostly:
- New photo galleries. I shoot the major carnivals on the circuit, and the galleries usually go up within a week of the road. Subscribers hear the moment one is ready.
- New videos. Full-length parades and J’ouvert, not 60-second edits.
- Carnival dates and news. When an event moves, changes its route or announces a launch, I’ll pass it on.
I don’t sell or share your address, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
The giveaway
The goal is 50 confirmed subscribers. You can see the progress bar at the bottom of any page on the site. When it fills, I’ll draw one winner at random from the confirmed list and give them a free month of the $5 Standard tier on our Patreon.
The rules, plainly:
- It’s free to enter. You don’t have to buy anything or join Patreon.
- You have to be 18 or older.
- You have to click the link in the confirmation email. Signing up without confirming doesn’t count. Check your spam folder for “One click and you’re in.”
- I’ll draw within seven days of reaching the goal, email the winner, and announce it on the site and on social media.
- The prize is one month of the Standard tier. It doesn’t renew, and it doesn’t need a card. If the winner doesn’t reply within seven days, or is already a paying Patreon member, I’ll draw again.
How to enter
Put your email in the box at the bottom of this page, then confirm it. That’s the whole thing.
